Transit Field support

Transit Field is the mobile companion to Transit Planner — it’s what your crew uses standing at the stop. Below are the questions we get most. If yours isn’t here, email info@lmailabs.ai and we typically reply within 1–2 business days.

How do I get an account?

Accounts are created by your agency, not by us directly. If your agency already uses Transit Planner, ask whoever administers it to invite you. If it doesn’t yet, get in touch and we’ll walk through it. You can explore the app without an account — it opens in a read-only demo of a sample agency.

Can I survey stops with no signal?

Yes — that’s what it’s built for. Load the stop list once while you have a connection, then work offline. Surveys and photos save to your phone immediately and upload on their own when signal returns. The header shows how many are still waiting. Closing or force-quitting the app does not lose them.

It says work is waiting to upload and nothing is happening.

The app retries automatically when it detects a connection, and again on a timer. If you want to force it, tap Upload now in the header. If something can’t upload at all — a stop that no longer exists in your agency’s feed, for example — it moves to a list of items needing attention rather than being discarded. Nothing you record is ever thrown away silently.

Why can’t I just move a stop to the right place?

Because a stop’s position is shared. Moving it changes the map for every project your agency has built on that feed, and can affect service-equity analysis. So the app lets you propose a correction — it records where you’re standing, how accurate the reading was, and your note — and a planner reviews it at a desk before anything changes.

It says my position is “within GPS error” and won’t let me submit.

Phone GPS is typically accurate to 3–10 metres in the open, and stop coordinates in a transit feed are often 5–15 metres off simply because they were drawn from aerial imagery. So a small disagreement isn’t evidence of a mistake. The app only accepts a proposal when you’re more than about 10 metres from the recorded position, which keeps planners from reviewing measurement noise.

Photos aren’t uploading.

Photos queue like everything else and upload when there’s signal. On the free plan there is a cap on stored photos; if you hit it, your survey answers still save and upload normally — only the photos are held back, and the app tells you. The photo stays on your phone until it can be sent.

Which phones does it work on?

iPhone and Android. You need a data connection to load a stop list initially, then you can work offline.

How do I delete my data?

Your survey work belongs to your agency, so start with them. If you want to know what we hold about you personally or have it removed, email info@lmailabs.ai. See the privacy policy for the detail.

Still stuck?

Email info@lmailabs.ai. It helps to include your agency, your phone model, and what you were doing when it went wrong.
